Dogs are there for us through thick and thin, but sometimes we get tired from a long day and forget to give them all the love they deserve.
Here are six budget ideas to spoil your boyfriend:
Make a dog cake
Dog owners don’t have to go out of their way to buy specific dog food for a dog cake. These cakes include ingredients typically found at home, such as peanut butter, honey, or Greek yogurt.
Here is a recipe to consider from The love of the oven:
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup natural peanut butter (Do not mix with xylitol as it is dangerous for dogs.)
1/2 cup applesauce (plain, unsweetened)
1/2 cup pumpkin puree

Buy a bone
Many pet owners tend to buy the same dog treats. It’s better because we know what our dogs do and don’t like or what is safe for them. As any pet owner knows, pet stores sell big bones. These would be beneficial as your dog may not get them often and it will keep him entertained for a long time.
Buy a new toy
It’s understandable that pet owners wait until a toy is destroyed before buying a new one. Some dogs may have a favorite toy, but it can also be boring to have the same options every day. Go get a new ball or soft toy for your dog! If you like to take your dog to the pet store, you can even ask him to choose the toy he wants.
To take a walk
If your dog is enthusiastic about car rides, take him on these trips. Outside of the park, you can take your dog to a fast food drive-thru, to a family member’s house, or just for a nighttime walk around town (if you have gas for that).
Give your dog a massage
Help your dog relax stiff muscles. There are places where you can pay for a dog massage, but if you choose to do it yourself, start by petting your dog in his favorite areas to relax him. Be gentle because you don’t want to hurt your dog. You can massage his head, neck, flanks and even stretch his hind legs (gently).
Go out and play
It’s easy to get tired and come home to do basic things like feed your dog and pat him on the head. Your dog still needs to have fun and get rid of that pent up energy, so be sure to have a good time with your dog. If you don’t have a yard, throw in some toys and run inside.
