This music festival – This two-day music festival at Durham Bulls Athletic Park celebrates artists making music right here in North Carolina. Things start on Friday and continue on Saturday. The program includes 25 artists on three stages.

James Taylor at the PNC Arena – See James Taylor and his All-Star Band on stage at the PNC Arena on Saturday night.

Backstreet Boys: DNA World Tour – The Backstreet Boys are taking their DNA World Tour to Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh on Saturday.

HIS – The R&B singer and songwriter will take her “The Back of My Mind Tour” to the Red Hat Amphitheater on Friday.

Billy Strings at the Booth Amphitheater – GRAMMY Award winner Billy Strings performs for 3 nights at the Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary. Shows are Thursday through Saturday. This bluegrass performer is dazzling on stage.

Amos Lee plays DPAC – Singer Amos Lee will bring his summer tour to the Durham Performing Arts Center on Saturday evening.

Summerfest: We Will Rock You: The Music of Queen – Pack your picnic, lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy some great music under the stars on Sunday nights at the Booth Amphitheater.

Air supply to DPAC – Experience one of the greatest soft rock duos of all time at DPAC Friday night.

Festivals and gastronomy

Out! Raleigh Pride – This action-packed, inclusive, family-friendly event has activities for all ages and features live entertainment, local vendors and artists, great food, a KidsZone and beer garden! There are no admission fees. The event takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.

Mystical Pirate Festival – Mystic Farm and Distillery in Durham hosts this event on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. There will be pirate sword fights, boats in the pond, food trucks, real cannons, pirate battles and more. Tickets are $10 in advance and $20 at the event. Buy tickets to Dinner with the Pirates after the Festival for an extra $39.

VHSSaturday Morning Cartoons – On Saturdays, The Fruit in Durham will air classic cartoons on VHS from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plus, enjoy specialty themed cocktails and a vegan brunch. Every drink and brunch item comes with free cereal!

Bee Day at the Durham Farmers Market – Celebrate the bees at this event Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon in Durham Central Park. Bee Day will feature real bees and beekeepers as well as honey samples.

Moore Square Vintage Market – The Triangle’s largest open-air vintage clothing market returns on Saturday with over 40 vendors. There will also be food trucks and lots of fun outdoor games set up in downtown Raleigh.
