Whether you’re looking to land a last minute date to celebrate Valentine’s Day or just want something fun to do with friends, here are some local hangout spots to take a significant other, friend or treat yourself to a great solo day on February 14th.

Bar515 Cocktails & Tapas, 4495 Chumuckla Highway, Pace
If you are feeling the panic of wanting to make a last minute appointment but notice that places are filling up, Bar515 Cocktails & Tapas may be a perfect choice, as seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the night from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The restaurant will offer drinks and special dishes. Some of the cocktails featured are the Lady in Red for $10, Love Potion for $9, or Sweetheart for $8. The regular menu will also be available for the entire evening.
There will also be live music from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. from the band About to Sweat.

Although reservations are accepted, walk-ins are always welcome for the cozy corner Valentine’s Day show. The chef’s menu will include roses, chocolates and adult beverages in addition to a three-course meal. Some of the special Valentine’s Day entrees to look forward to include lobster cream enchiladas, steak medallions over chimichurri over basmati rice, and a vegetarian entree option. Calvert’s in the Heights, 670 Scenic Highway, East Heights
This friendly neighborhood restaurant brings romance with a special Valentine’s Day menu and jazz music by Joe Occhipinti from 6-9 p.m. Although there may be a wait, especially for tables for two, walk-in customers will be accepted. The menu is priced at $60 per person and includes a choice of starters, main courses and desserts. Entree choices include Beef Wellington, Grilled Rib Eye, Walnut-Crusted Salmon, Champagne Chicken, and Shrimp and Scallops over Fettucine. A full menu is available on the restaurant’s Facebook page. Fish House, 600 S. Barracks St.
This walk-in restaurant will serve both lunch and dinner on the day of love, with lunch options from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and dinner service from 3:00 p.m. In addition to the regular menu, there will also be a lunch special. and dinner, which is pistachio-crusted snapper over roasted root vegetables, warm apple and pear chutney, all topped with a beurre blanc sauce. If you’re looking for seafood, The Juicy Crab can be a solid option to indulge in on a three-course menu that’s on offer February 7-14. The menu is made to be shared, with each Valentine’s Day package including your choice of one entree, two entrees, two desserts and two drinks for $84.99. Appetizers are divided into combo plates with various seafood choices in addition to corn, potatoes and eggs.

For those looking to grab an after-dinner drink or hang out with other singles, Emerald Republic offers the best of both options at their Til Death Do Us Part party on February 14 from 4-10 p.m. The event will feature a variety of music, capturing everything from love songs to heartaches.
Coastal County Brewing Company, 3041 E. Olive Road
If you want a fun place to find a festive drink, Coastal County has developed an Imperial Stout covered in seasonal chocolate to capture the flavors of the holidays. The drink is described as dark, rich and indulgent and captures the signature flavor of Valentine’s Day candy, only better. The 22-ounce bottles are limited and go on sale February 11. Coastal County is open Mondays from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

If you want to make a quick day out drinking or pair a nice cocktail with lunch, Dog House offers three special cocktails in honor of the holidays. The new cocktails will be The Lover, Chocolate Negroni and The Contradiction. Dog House is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays.

If you prefer to have a more casual date for Valentine’s Day or grab a coffee with a friend, The Drowsy Poet at Navy Boulis has several February specials to help you celebrate. Some of the featured drinks including Cupid’s Arrow made with white chocolate and raspberry flavors, Burning Love Latte with white chocolate, raspberry plus cayenne pepper and cinnamon powder and topped with whipped cream and of cinnamon, as well as a chocolate and strawberry latte. The Drowsy Poet will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.

Coffee Guy has plenty of space for couples or groups to mingle, in addition to several Valentine’s-related drinks to unwind. AJ’s Market & Ice Cream in Southtowne, 140 S. Jefferson St.
This place offers treats on the more indulgent side, like the Red Devil Cake & Ice Cream and the Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shake. Galentine Sunday Brunch

This Galentine’s Day pajama brunch is for the ladies. Even if you don’t have a Valentine’s Day this year, the event encourages you to bring friends or make new ones at the event from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The brunch will be filled with champagne and chocolate and waffles and frittatas to enjoy in your most comfortable outfit. No reservation is necessary.
Bodacious Shops, 407 S. Palafox Street #D
This “Girls just want to have fun!” The ladies brunch includes karaoke, enjoy a mimosa bar and a delicious brunch buffet on the Bodacious balcony. Each ticket purchase comes with a drink ticket for ages 21+ with the option to purchase a bottomless mimosa wristband. General admission tickets are $50, and the bottomless mimosa supplement is an additional $25. Tickets can be ordered via the event’s Facebook page. All ticket sales are through February 13 at noon.
Activities to celebrate Valentine’s Day
Barrel and Flight Wine Tasting Room, 121 S Palafox St.
While not the most flexible, this couple’s yoga class will always be a fun time when wine is involved. The class is $30 for the couple and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with lunch and wine included in the price. The class will be led by a professional yoga teacher. Class registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and class begins at 10 a.m. sharp. Class size is limited, but can be purchased online at Kegs and Flights website.
Grizzly Axes, 6300 N. Davis Highway
Whether you’re looking for a fun date together idea to get revenge on a significant ex, Axes and Oh’s Special Ax Throw may be the perfect option. The event welcomes both heartbroken and heartbreakers alike, with heart-shaped targets on the wooden planks to aim for. The package costs $50 for two people and includes thirty minutes of ax throwing at heart-shaped targets and the premium Rage Room, where couples can smash different breakable objects. It is best to make a reservation, but you can enter at any time. People will be able to show up or make a reservation, time slots are available on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight, Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Valentine’s Day itself from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling 850-741-4700.

This Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt is a free date idea to help partners get to know each other on a more intimate level. Admission to the event itself is free, but couples can add a champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries package for $25.
